How the Swedish table tennis ranking (SBTF) is calculated

The Swedish table tennis association (SBTF) ranks players with a data ranking (“rankingtal”) that is calculated once a month. Every match moves points from the loser to the winner, the same number both ways, taken from one table.

The ranking table

The gap selects the row, and the result decides the column: a win by the higher-ranked player is worth little, an upset a lot.

Table and rules follow SBTF’s “Manual för dataranking” (version 2026–2027). Every number on this page is computed with the same rules as the calculator in the app; the official ranking is the one SBTF publishes.

Work out your ranking

Trainoro’s rating calculator does this for any event: enter your ranking and your opponents’, mark wins and losses and whether it is a championship, and see your new ranking. It runs on your phone, with no login.
